Dundee City Council

Dundee is the perfect little city for Electric Vehicles and is regarded as Scotland’s leading city in the adoption, promotion and operation of electric vehicles. As the city is small and compact with a maximum drive of 20 minutes between points in the city. It makes the city especially well-suited to widespread EV use, with the drivable range of current vehicles sufficient for practically all journeys within the city.  The council recognises the potential for EVs to support efforts to reduce pollution from road traffic and improve the air quality for citizens.

Leeds City Council

Leeds City Council is accelerating the uptake of electric vehicles to help protect the health of everyone in Leeds and to support our ambition of becoming the UK’s first net zero city.

West of England Combined Authority

The West of England is an economic leader. With a population of over 1.1 million people, one of the highest rates of employment in the country, and over 46,000 businesses, the region competes on a global scale.

The success of GB EV Rally will be largely down to the kind help and assistance of our Event Partners, both from an organisational point of view, as well as an engagement one too.

We are fortunate to have secured the support of the some of the largest names in their fields, to help us here.

Planning & Execution
Thanks to the expertise of bp pulse, Paua,, Gridserve and SWARCO, our charging partners, we have plotted a route that enables us to take in the iconic landmarks we want, coupled with charge points that will feature as Official Checkpoints.

Live Progress
Courtesy of Webfleet Solutions, innovative tracking technology will be fitted to the participating vehicles, so we can broadcast LIVE progress of the GB EV Rally, online, as it progresses. Driver performance will also be highlighted, daily, with daily tips given by Driver Training Partner, Drivetech.

Roadside Assistance
Thanks, once again, to AA, we will be able to cope with any issues that might occur. If it’s a technical fault on the vehicle, or simply a ‘flatty’, we have it covered. Armed with their portable on-board charger, and their award-winning ‘Free-Wheeling Hub’, the drivers are in safe hands.

Event Logistics & Support
Ensuring that the Checkpoints are fully functional and branded, our Logistics Crew will get around ahead and behind the Rally, thanks to the use of innovative eDeliver 9 electric vans, kindly supplied by Maxus UK.

While we expect to make the news, on TV AND Radio, our reach on social media platforms will drive the interest in this, and our PARTNERS are key to us achieving this, as well as the smooth running of the event too. Here is a summary of where you can see us and the collective, projected reach…

We are delighted to confirm that no less that 3 of the drivers of the Rally are Guinness World Record Holders, in various ‘eco-driving categories. Their videos can be seen online!

We are delighted to have secured the involvement of Drivetech as the Official Driver Training Partner and Webfleet Solutions as the Technology Partner for the event.

Over the 5 days, Drivetech's ‘EV KEITH’ will once again set the standard for everyone else to beat, or match. With decades of experience under his race-suit belt, and using his innovative VW ID.3, he will demonstrate how ‘driver style’ affects the performance of an EV, in the same way it does on an ICE vehicle.

Using the Webfleet Solutions technology fitted to the vehicles, we will measure harsh acceleration, braking, cornering, and coupled with temperature, etc. will be able to demonstrate the energy use (Miles/kWh) of each vehicle.

Team Drivetech will also be offering daily advice to EV Rally participants and the watching fleet professionals, on how to get the best out of their electric vehicle.

Every night, we will publish the results of the day’s drive and see how it affects the TEAM LEAGUE TABLE… It’s going to get competitive
